On October 20, 2000 a laser experiment attempting to measure the velocity of Earth and the Milky Way failed. It was intended to fail in order to prove a radical theory about gravity.

The theory begins with criticism of Galileo, Newton and Einstein, our hallowed gods of science. Criticism for likely missing the root cause of the phenomena they investigated, specifically the origin of gravity.

Galileo came very close to its discovery with his treatise on falling bodies. Newton could have discovered it but he was primarily interested in the phenomena in his three laws of motion, not their cause. Einstein building on his 1915 General Theory of Relativity searched the rest of his life for evidence of gravity waves while all the time he was likely standing in one of mammoth proportions.

A cup is half-full or it is half-empty though the volume of water remains the same in both.

The phenomena of gravity is like the above volume of water. It is always the same. The origin of it, however is debatable.

As we all know gravity is caused by the mass of a spinning body such as a planet or a star hurtling through space at some impossible speed rushing away from the Big Bang.

The larger or denser the body the greater the gravitational force generated from the body pulling all matter in its grip downward towards its center.

That is the half-empty glass.

The half-full glass maintains that gravity is caused by a spinning body such as a planet or star hurtling through space at some impossible speed away from the Big Bang.

Little difference here except that gravity is not generated by the body itself but by its displacement of space as it moves through it, causing space to compress around the body seeking to return to its natural place. The greater the displacement, the greater the stretching of space, the greater the compression around the body initiating incandescence in stars and incandescence that cannot escape in Black Holes.

This version of gravity is a pushing force from above, pushing all matter in its grip and sometimes energy downward toward the center of the space that has been violated and currently occupied by an intruder.

Further more, under this hypothesis empty space is not empty. It is filled with energy of colossal proportions. (see The Force Field.)
